I met Dan Rather once. He swung through the Stagecoach Inn dining room for lunch one Saturday while I was working there. Nice guy... seemed really interested in the old Texas maps we had on display there.
Dan Rather helped set the standard for reporting world-level newsworthy events, not to mention his expansion of the scope and presentation of the nightly news. I hope he has as much fun in retirement as Tom Brokaw seems to be having... ;-)
